Zelf even vertalen ;-)

Are you talking about the vertical acceleration sensor? That's mounted on the front of the engine cradle, right side. Little flat black square with a single wiring pigtail plugged into it. It's near the A/C compressor. This is used by the computer as part of the "spark knock" detection system. Basically, it's an accelerometer that lets the computer know if the suspected knocking from the knock sensor really was a knock or a jolt due to a hard bump in the road. If the computer gets a "knock" signal from the knock sensor at the same time as the vertical acceleration sensor signals a hard hit, it knows that it wasn't a knock. It prevents the computer from retarding the spark unnecessarily. It's kind of a Volvo quirk, but it helps the entire engine management system to be far more precise.
